Akothee clears the air on her relationship with Nelly Oaks

Self-proclaimed president of single mothers Esther Akoth popularly known as Akothee said she is not dating Nelly Oaks unlike what many thought.

Her statement comes months after Akothee and Oaks treated fans to some suggestive pics. The internet is awash with these romantic photos.

Akothee has now rubbished claims that she is dating her manager Nelly Oaks. She told the Star that, “Nelly Oaks has not proposed to me, therefore I am not going to get into his plans. Maybe he has no plans for me. However, he is a good guy and if he proposes to me, why not marry him?”

The ‘Yuko Moyoni’ hit maker seems to be portraying a different picture of her relationship with her manager on Instagram. On some posts, she has referred to Oaks as King. One of her most recent posts read:

“Umepea wazungu homa babyna, waliodhani sitapata mme wanahangaika homaaaa Hera gima oyuma zanaa ! twende pari mme wangu”

After she was asked about dating a younger man. Akothee answered, “Who told you he is young? Furthermore, we are not dating. We are just friends but our fans pushed us to say we are dating. We are not really dating. Maybe I do not know the meaning of dating but for us, we are just pals. Just because people see us walking and working together does not mean we are dating. We are business partners.”

The mother of five recently revealed that she has divided land for her three daughters. The 3 daughters were each given 3 acres. Her social media post read:

“I think it’s high time parents consider dividing land for a girl child just in case things don’t work out ! I Esther Akoth Kokeyo has divided land for my 3 daughter’s Each one of them has 3 acres ! As their birthday gifts as they graduate from being children, they can build their homes and develop the rest."
