Naomi later shared a risqué behind the scene photo from the British Vogue shoot and captioned it “First drop of Golden Hour.BTS in Kenya for @britishvogue July 2019 #NAOMIAFRICA.”
The picture attracted comments like ‘Cute as heaven’ and ‘Perfection. Goddess. Always glowing.’
However, Akothee felt that if she did that kind of photo shoot she would be demonized, passport marked red and cancelled by fans for being a bad role model.
“If I do this kind of photoshoot, my passport will be marked red, never to step into Kenya land again, even with all the debts they have they will forget that and make this a topic, they will mistake that waist chain for rituals. I need this photoshoot in 2 weeks its summer some of my fans will disown me publicly, but own me privately, some will call off the title role model🤔 but still have the screen shorts doing rounds on Akothee’s clubs, and their screen savers. Now they are on your page praising, black beauty this world is not our home, sisi wapita njia,” she commented.
Role model my a** -
Akothee’s comment comes months after she was attacked following her performance at Paparemo Beach in Watamu.
Kenyans led by Ezekiel Mutua grumbled about her skimpy stage ensemble and how she twerked, gyrated her hips and displayed her firm derrière on stage.
They argued that though she is talented, she is ‘immoral’ and a bad ‘role model’.
In response to the backlash, Akothee ferociously rejected the ‘role model’ tag by making it clear that parents should nurture their kids and not rely on her to raise their kids.
“I am dumping that name role model, my a**! Let every parent be a role model to their own children,” she shouted in a video as she puffed on a cigarette, sipped her wine and twerked without a care in the world.
The caption to the video also urged those who are offended by her to unfollow her. “Follow me at your own Risk, #rolemochieth see role mochieth smoking and drinking, call moral polis aka 60 and above. UNFOLLOW NOW.”
