Public outcry after the arrest of two popular Kenyan musicians

On Monday, they appeared before the judge at the Magistrates Court and were slapped with a Sh200,000 bail, which could not be processed in the time they had till the end of court business.

Their friends managed to get legal representation from some well-wishers and from the venue owner at Marquee Lounge as well, who has also been working to get them out.

On Wednesday morning the two appeared before Nairobi City Hall magistrates court, and after the hearing they were granted 50k bail each.

Fellow Musicians and fans were calling for the release of the two, who had been held at Industrial Area Police Remand.

“Two of our own, Jack and Amani (Nairobi Horns Project) were arrested by Nema after a gig in Westlands for sitting on the stage. It was called Noise Pollution. They have been held at Industrial Area Police Remand” reads a statement from Rashid (organiser Thursday Night Live)

Their instruments were not be released because they didn't have the documents to prove ownership (Receipt)
