Larry Madowo, the former host of the show took to his Instagram account to congratulate Amina Abdi Rabar for taking up the Trend.

Larry’s message elicited mixed reactions among viewers the trend with many telling him, that despite him being overwhelmed by Amina’s presence on the Trend, she will never match his energy.

Despite the few disagreements on Amina taking over the trend, another lot of fans, have already fallen in love with her energy and they believe she was the right person to replace Larry.

The sassy presenter first show was at the new Nairobi University Chandaria auditorium in front of a live audience.
According to NTV’s head of television Justus Tharoa, they wanted Amina to have a feel good welcome as she joined the team. “We wanted her to feel welcome and that is why we unveiled her at a concert and not at our studios, but from next week she will be hosting the show right here in the studios.” ‘ said Justus Tharoa,
The Trend’ has since June been hosted by former Nation FM presenter Ciru Muriuki, Hot 96’s Cindi Ogana, Capital FM’s Anita Nderu, funnyman Dr King’ori and Njambi Koikai.
Mr Tharoa added that they settled on Amina a new fresh air of breath in entertainment and she has a 360 degree understanding of the entertainment industry.
She is the new face of entertainment, from TV, radio to emcing and that is what NTV was looking for.
