Tanzanian government makes U-turn on Diamond and Rayvanny’s Ban

Good news to Diamond and Rayvanny fans

The Tanzanian government through its Music Regulatory Board popularly known as BASATA has made a U-turn on their earlier ban imposed on Diamond Platnumz and Rayvanny.

In an official letter addressed to all media house, BASATA have given the two artiste permission to perform outside their country.

“Baraza la Sanna la Taifa (BASATA) limefanya kikao na kujadili mamombi ya masanii Diamond Platnumz an mwenzake Rayvanny ya kuomba kusamehewa adhabu iliyotolewa wiki iliyopita inayowasimamisha wasijihusishe na maonesho yoyote ndani nan je ya nchi kwa ukiukaji wa maadili na dahrau kwa mamlaka. Aidha kutokana na sintofahamu hiyo isoyo na afya kusimamia maendeleo Sanaa nchini na ukweli kwamaba mwanamuziki Diamond na wenzake waliingia mikataba inayofahamika katika nchi mbili za jirani kabala ya adhabu ya BASATA kutolewa na pia kuzingatia athari kwa mashabiki wan chi hizo amabzo tayari walishakata tiketi za maonesho hayo BASATA inawaondolea katazo la maonyesho hayo tajwa tu na kubaki katozo la ndani ya nchi mpka pale Diamond na wenzake watakapoonyesha mabadiliko chanya kitabia” reads statement from Basata.

No Performing in Tanzania

Despite lifting the Ban, the two will not be allowed to perform in their country indefinitely, until a time BASATA will be contended that they have rectified their mistakes.

This comes days after the body had banned Platnumz and his artiste (Rayvanny) from doing any shows in and outside of Tanzania, for performing their banned song Mwanza in their ongoing Wasafi Festival.

Apology

On December 21st, Diamond and Rayvanny issued a public apology, to BASATA for disrespecting its orders.

“Japo tunajitahidi kuwa vijana wa mfano bora kwenye Taifa letu, lakini kama tulivyoumbwa binadam hatuwezi kupatia siku zote, lazma itatokea siku tutateleza tu....Ila Utelezapo, ni vyema kulijua Kosa na Kulirekebisha ili kesho na Kesho kutwa lisijirudie....Inshaallah Mwenyez Mungu Atusimamie na kutuongezea Juhudi na Maarifa katika Kazi zetu ili kwa Pamoja tuzidi kuukuza Muziki wetu na Kuendelea Kuiwakilisha vyema na kulipa sifa Nzuri na Heshima Nchi yetu....Tuseme Amin..” shared Diamond.
