The sports category has moved to a new website.

“Who told you to speak on behalf of Gospel musicians?”

Bahati took shots at Sauti Sol, Collo and Nyashinski in a post on social media, and now he has been torn apart like crazy.

Yesterday Bahati took it upon himself to apologize to Kenyans on behalf of Willy Paul and Size 8 over their “Tiga Wana” song which attracted hell of criticisms.

Bahati said the public had lost trust in gospel musicians because of the secular-ish songs they were releasing.

Also in his post, the “Mapenzi” singer took shots at Sauti Sol, Collo and Nyashinski; he claimed the secular musicians would be nominated for Groove awards (a gospel only award) for ‘Male Artist of the Year 2016/2007. N/B: The mentioned secular musicians have dropped gospel songs that turned out to be major hits; Sauti Sol (Kuliko Jana), Nyashinski (Mungu Pekee).

Sauti Sol’s Bien quickly responded to Bahati’s hybrid hypocrisy telling him not to target awards as they are a by-product of good quality.

“Bahati go and write songs or rather get good songwriters to work with. DO NOT do music targeting awards. Awards are a by-product of quality. Use this energy to better your musicianship. Also who told you to speak on behalf of Gospel musicians! There are plenty of Gospel artists who are doing God’s work with anointing as they should. So stop roping an entire industry into your publicity stunts. It just makes Kenyan musicians in general look bad. Sautisol didn’t sing Kuliko Jana targeting any award. Music from the heart goes to the heart. As musicians our legacy is cast on song not hype. I mean this with love and respect,” Bien wrote.

Gospel singer L-Jay Maasai also gave Bahati a piece of his mind:

“No one appointed Bahati as the spokesman for the gospel industry. There are plenty of musicians doing real gospel music and (are) inspired by the Word of God. Maybe we as fans are just paying attention to the wrong musicians… Let’s not dwell in some quotas who have become experts in publicity stunt,”
