Cyprian Nyakundi faces jail time over defamatory posts against Safaricom C.E.O
Known for his highly- inflammatory and mostly controversial posts, Cyprian Nyakundi was sued by Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore and former chief executive Michael Joseph for publishing defamatory information about the giant telecommunications company on his blog.
“ I was arrested yesterday by 5 CID officers I am currently at Central Police Station #FreeNyakundiDeportBob” he tweeted igniting the hashtag #FreeNyakundiDeportBob.
He later went on to post these series of tweets:
“There is nothing @ BobCollymore Will gain by Always colluding with CID officers to get me arrested on Fridays " To suffer "
Jails are for me @BobCollymore you see Monday is here . Stop this intimidation please . Fix corruption and impunity in Safaricom
Where was Nyakundi when Safaricom Managers were colluding with cartels to steal from Kenyans through Third Parties? @bobcollymore
The Kenyan media has also been colonized. They will never report any truth about @bobcollymore and @SafarifomLTD”
As he prepared to be presented at the Milimani law courts today, Nyakundi claimed that the case was per-determined “I am being produced in court today . Everything pre-determined. Is @bobcollymore controlling the courts as Ngugi the petitioner said?”
News just in is that Nyakundi has been ordered by Justice Mwihaki Njuguna to either spend 4 months in jail over contempt of court for defamatory publications against Bob Collymore or pay Sh300, 000 Kshs fine.
