Popular Radio Africa presenter in mourning after husband was shot

He was gunned down at their home in Nairobi.

Bunty was the husband to East FM’s Breakfast show host Riya Sharma.

Bunty Shah the man who is also behind the hugely successful Kenyan nursery Bloomingdale Roses is said to have met his death after a specialized unit in the police allegedly raided his home at Westlands, Nairobi.

The commotion in the compound woke Bunty up. And as a licensed gun holder he shot twice via the window to scare off the intruders but unfortunately, an officer shot him in the chest.

“He had heard the commotion and noise in the compound and so he woke up and stood at the window and shot twice in the air perhaps to scare the intruders.” His uncle, Kiru Shah told The Standard.

The family then revealed that after the shooting the wife ran out and informed the police that her husband was critically injured and needed medical attention and that’s when they realized that they were in the wrong compound.

Realizing that it was a case of mistaken identity the police left the scene and Bunty was rushed to MP Shah hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Bunty leaves behind his wife Riya and six-month-old baby boy.
