The guy who has now been identified as Alfie decided to propose to his girlfriend of many years at Chicken Inn, Union Towers on Moi Avenue.
Alfie got down on his knee, but Njeri indicated that she didn’t like the attention the proposal brought and seemingly tried to tell Alfie to stop proposing. But he continued asking her to be his wife before Njeri ran out leaving the patrons at the eatery shocked and they tried comforting the seemingly heartbroken Alfie who had been left high and dry. Looking at the camera, Alfie said that he had to take some whisky to calm his nerves.
The question on people’s mind was why Njeri rejected him. Now the Lead Creative Consultant at ARK Entertainment Kenya has spoken up on the proposal that went wrong.

She revealed that the reason she rejected him was because this was not even a real proposal in the first place, it was part of a social experiment by Social Experiment Kenya. An organisation that aims at ‘provoking change by creating a platform for social dialogue about issues facing the society.’
She also went to joke and say that ‘Maybe it was not such a BIRD idea to propose at Chicken Inn.’ since the video went viral.
