Earlier this month, Citizen TV news anchor Salim Swaleh quietly exited the Royal Media-owned station.

His exit came with some startling allegations that he was used to ‘fix’ the Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho by recording him saying negative things about the Nairobi governor. PS Kibicho is then said to have called RMS bosses to report what had happened.

Other sources claimed that he had taken a bribe. And all through the allegations, Salim has maintained radio science, until now.

Following his exit, Salim has decided to clear the air following the scandal. He disclosed that he resigned for personal reasons and not what was reported in the blogs.

“Yes, it is true I left Citizen TV a week ago. I resigned for personal reasons not because of what I am reading online. My salary and the little I get from my businesses is enough money for me. I am a professional journalist who has worked with international media entities,” Salim told Tuko News.
