Celebrated Media personality Yvonne Okwara Matole has penned down a powerful statement months after joining Royal Media Services owned Station Citizen TV.
Through her Instagram, Ms Okwara has disclosed how her loyalty is never grounded on any TV station as she always focuses on professionalism no matter who she is working for.
“They say, the only constant in life is change! I'm enjoying this new chapter in my career! My loyalty is not to any TV station. It is to my values and what I bring to the table. Powerful journalism that asks the tough questions, speaks truth to power. Providing a platform where the powerful and the powerless can engage! That is what I hope my legacy will be. I hope you will take this journey with me, no matter where I go!” shared Yvonne Okwara
Before joining Citizen TV, Okwara used to work with KTN hosting a segment dubbed Check Point every Sunday night.
At RMS, she joined her former managing editor Joe Ageyo, who was recently appointed editorial director at the SK Macharia-owned media house.
This comes days after her defense statements towards her former Colleague at KTN Akisa Wandera after tweeps started comparing her to Betty Kyallo who exited the TV station.
A twitter user identified as Real Waswah, tweeted suggesting that Akisa will be the perfect replacement for Betty on
“ I think is the best to take over Segment to replace Betty ama namna gani Wangwana. ” Tweeted @Realwaswah
“Akisa doesn't need to step into anyone's shoes. She's an outstanding journalist in her own right."
She added that everyone brings out their unique talents in their own way and therefore there is no need for comparisons.
“Exactly. We each bring our unique talents to the table. We cannot be like anyone else. On. The. Planet. I dislike comparisons. I see people individually, how God made them! I love Akisa. She's hardworking, humble, smart.”added Okwara.
