Bahati disclosed this during the unveiling of Rebecca Soki at KICC who was signed into EMB records. The event took place on 10 April 2018.
The ‘Mama’ hit maker further revealed that he has been sacrificing to pay for him because he is passionate about changing David Wonder’s life for the better.
“We have so far done about six videos and we have spent over a million on David Wonder. I have never been sponsored by anyone but when I’m called for a show by Coca-Cola and Safaricom I sacrifice a percentage because I want his life to change, but so far David Wonder hajarudisha hata shillingi"

David Wonder spoke to NTV and regarding the matter he said he has been working hard since he started and he is not in panic because he knows time will come and he is confident there is consistency in his work.
David’s 2017 highlight was Ndogo Ndogo which he did with Bahati. The song went viral unlike his expectations and he stated that it catapulted him to greater heights career wise.
The name Wonder came about after David met Bahati. He narrated his story and how he had struggled to make his dream come true and Bahati’s reply was ‘You are a product of God’s wonders’ and the name Wonder stuck.
