Diamond’s manager arrested
He has been hiding from the police
According to Global Publishers, Tale was arrested for failing to pay Sh11 million (TSh250 million) as was ordered by the Court, after being found guilty of copyright infringement.
He was arraigned in court on Tuesday but the registrar of the court was not present and he had to be remanded until Wednesday.
Tale, who is the owner of Tip Top entertainment was accused by a motivational speaker Sheikh Mbonde in February 2016 of using his recorded religious clips for commercial purposes without the consent of the Sheikh.
The religious leader said that he had only agreed that Tip Top could only use his works for domestic purposes, but money was made out of it.
The Court then ruled that Tip Top which is co-owned by Tale and his brother had violated terms of the agreement and awarded the Sheikh the hefty sum of TSh250 million for compensation.
It also ruled that in the event they failed to pay, the company’s property would be auctioned or its directors would be jailed.
At the time of Babu Tale’s arrest he had not yet paid Sheikh Mbonde.
