Kalonje went on his knee during his visit to Dubai and proposed to his girlfriend Sonnie.

His choice of venue is not lost to many considering that he built his empire on the wheels of steel where he grounded himself with mixtapes that ruled the matatu industry for years.


The DJ whose real names are George Waweru, made history after becoming the first African DJ to be interviewd on the BET Awards Experience.

Kalonje was in the company of Chipukeezy and YY the comedian who attended this year’s BET Awards that went down in US.

DJ Kalonje took to his social media account to share his joy of becoming the first Kenyan DJ to feature on the BET Experience interview.

He started out back in 2006 hawking his mixtapes at Sh50 in the streets of Nairobi. The mixtapes soon found their way in matatus became popular.
