Elani is back with a new single after a 2-year break

They're back with a bang!

The band consisting of Brian Chweya, Maureen Kunga and Wambui Ngungi had announced that they will be returning to music via their Instagram page:

"Counting down days to the 08.8.18 for the release of our first single... Get here already!!!!"

The trio quickly shot into fame in 2013 after releasing club banger 'Jana Usiku' from their first album, 'Barua ya Dunia' which also featured other hits such as 'KooKoo'. They would then later get into a war of words with MCSK over unpaid royalties and unfortunately, things went downhill from there. The group took a music hiatus for two years to find themselves, better themselves and come back revitalized and indeed, they have kept their promise.

Speaking to Adele and Shaffie on Kiss Breakfast, Elani, while promoting the first single 'Heartbeat' off their album 'Colors of Love' which will be dropping soon revealed that the album is well thought out and comes from a place that is honest. Their new song, 'Heartbeat' has excited fans, if the reactions on social media are anything to go by.

While I do agree that a lot of work, passion and effort was put into the song, in my unsolicited opinion, I must point out that they're not as audible and clear as I would prefer when it comes to the chorus. When you listen to a song, you wanna be able to hear each and every word. I do however, love the video, and the outfits.

Have a listen to the song:

The band has promised to drop a few more singles as we anticipate the official launch of their new album, 'Colors of Love'.
