Ida Odinga opens up about her life away from Raila Odinga's shadow
Many people will tell you that the first thing that comes to mind when they hear the name Ida Odinga, is her husband, former Prime Minister and opposition leader Raila Odinga. Very few people know who Ida really is.
Other than being Raila Odinga’s wife, Ida is a mother, businesswoman, activist and an educator. She will talk about her life as a teacher, how she managed to raise her four children on her own when her husband Raila Odinga, was imprisoned back in 1982, by the government of then President Daniel Arap Moi.
Ida will also talk about the League of Kenya Women Voters, which she founded in 1991, to promote opportunities for women in the political arena. The docuseries will also take us through the devastation Ida went through when she lost her first born son Fidel Odinga, in January 2015. The show will be on Maisha Magic East on Sunday 26 March 2017 at 8.30p.m.
