Babu Owino’s promise to Embakasi East Residents ahead of official vote Recount results

His promises come at a time when residents of Embakasi are waiting for IEBC to issue the official result for Vote recounts in the constituency.

On Monday, Owino and his rival Francis Mureithi subjected Embakasi East residents to Confusion after both of them declared themselves victors in the Vote recount.

According to the numbers given by Owino, he had emerged with victory after getting 46587 Votes against 42253 of his competitor Francis Mureithi.

However, Minutes later Mureithi himself took to his Facebook account with his own figures which showed he had won.

He added that ballot boxes from six polling station and Form 35A from 60 stations were missing.

“We have ballot boxes missing from six polling stations and cannot be found, Form 35A missing for over 60 stations others have no IEBC stamps and Officials Signatures. It’s evident the process was not conducted as per the rules. Final tally for 201 polling stations of 207 are as follows, Francis mureithi 47,582. Babu Owino 46,813. On January 12 2017, the High Court ordered recount and scrutiny of all votes cast in the parliamentary race during the August 8 election in Embakasi East.

IEBC is yet to give official results.
