Kenyans fell in love with Nikita Kering on December 4th 2011 when she performed on live TV during the Emmy Kosgei’s album launch.

But before she was known as a mentee and close friend of the of the top Kenyan Gospel Singer, Nikita was already on her way to stardom as she could sing up a storm at the tender age of 3 years.

Just like may stars, Nikita honed her singing skills in church (The Nairobi Pentecostal Church, Valley Road) and at school. In Riara Springs, Nikita was encouraged by her teachers to perform during various school functions and at the age of 8 back in 2010, she received her first major standing ovation.

This was by a mammoth crowd at her school’s annual concert where she sizzled the crowd with a moving rendition of one of Emmy Kosgei’s hit songs.

As she turns 15 this year, Emmy Kosgei’s mentee and ‘daughter’ is about to start a new chapter in her life, high school. The young girl will be attending the famously expensive Brookhouse School.

The prestigious international school along Magadi Road has produced talents like Janet Mbugua, Louise Leakey a paleontologist, educator and lecturer, Liza Mucheru-Wisner, a finalist in the tenth season of The Apprentice (US version), E-Sir and the famous Moipei Quartet.

Education here however does not come cheap; in fact it cost a pretty penny that only the who-is-who in society can afford. Some students even pay about 3 Million Kshs per term according to the fees structure.

With the price going up if someone is a first time student:
