Raila Odinga apologised after the Incident
Gachuri has stated that Etale was very instrumental in helping him to safety during the attack.
This comes after State House Director of Digital Communication Dennis Itumbi and Senator Kipchumba Murkomen claimed that Etale was behind the attack.
Through his Social media pages, Gachuri said that it was not true, adding that Etale had not asked the youth to rough him up.
“One more thing, it's NOT TRUE that @EtalePhilip urged on the youths to rough me up. He actually was instrumental in helping me to safety.” Reads Gachuri’s Tweet.
“Please Leave Phillip Etale Alone. He didn’t instigate the attack against me. He shoudn’t be demonized for something he did not do” reads Gachuri’s Facebook Post.
The ODM Director has expressed his disappointment with the State House official and the senate Majority Leader for propagating false news about the attack on Journalists.
Etale later thank Gachuri for setting the record straight in regard to the attack.
“To my friend Francis Gachuri, thank you for your statement that has put the record straight. I was so disturbed and my family too was. God forgive me for anything irresponsible I may (have) has said or posted in anger that may have hurt anyone as a result of the incident,” he said
He went ahead to also to say that he had forgiven them for what they had said about him.
“I forgive Dennis Itumbi and Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen and their supporters for wrongfully waging an online attack on me. My brother Francis Gachuri, thank you for this clarification. I am now a free man, My heart has been freed and tears wiped from my eyes. May all of you have a Blessed day?”
Nasa leader Raila Odinga has since apologised to the journalists attacked Wiper Party headquarters during the Nasa parliamentary group meeting.
