The ‘Kamami’ character by Terrence Creative has become a hot commodity especially in women groups like ‘Kilimani Mums’ and ‘Chitchat’ where ladies share their favourite vines.
How I came up with the ‘Kamami’ character - Terrence Creative
What inspires the Kamami character.
The man behind ‘Kamami’ is none other than Terence Creative a Radio Presenter and Content developer. He has worked on projects like Jalang’o with the Money, Eric Omondi Untamed and Churchill Show but it was the ‘Kamami’ vines that thrust him into the spotlight.
“I posted the Kamami thing and the feedback was so nice. I got a lot of feedback, up to 60,000 views from 3,000 views. I got more DMs and messages saying they wanted more of this kind of content and that is what we started,” Terrence told Radio Jambo on the beginnings of Kamami.
“Kamami is an ordinary Kenyan lady. People like Kamami coz they can relate to her, an ordinary msichana, si babi,” Terrence said.
He also addressed claims that his lady Milly Chebby inspired the ‘Kamami’ character “Ladies inspire my character Kamami. People say it’s my lady but I have an events company where I host things like baby showers, birthday parties and I hang out with ladies at times. I like hanging around women as they have content. Kamami is inspired by women, not a specific woman and not my lady.”
Terrence disclosed that before working behind the scenes, he was an actor and a host. “I started comedy way back when I was in high school, that’s where I developed a passion for acting. After high school I joined theatre for set book acting, in 2011, I started co-hosting a show alongside Fred Omondi at KTN.”
