I did all tests to check whether my tubes were blocked – Kambua on 6-year journey to pregnancy

Citizen TV presenter Kambua Mathu has opened up on her six-year journey to pregnancy, which saw her take all recommended tests, in her quest to find out why she couldn’t conceive.

In a recent interview, the new mum pointed out that there is a lot of vagueness in the process especially when you are getting from someone who is not an actual expert.

She went on to say that after taking all tests to check whether her tubes were blocked and if her eggs were viable and nothing showed, the specialist told Kambua and her husband to keep trying.

There is a lot of vagueness in the whole process if you don’t get information from an actual expert. I did all tests that were recommended checking whether all my tubes were blocked or if the eggs were viable and nothing came up. We were simply told to keep trying,” said Kambua in an interview with Parents magazine.

Alternative options

Kambua mentioned that in 2018, she decided to look for alternative options that could help her conceive and she had even been introduced to a specialist, when she started showing symptoms she could not explain.

The TV presenter who had stopped keeping track of her ovulation days because it was emotionally draining then started thinking that she could actually be pregnant and went on to take a test that came back positive.

One day after the Rauka show, still feeling a little under the weather, I started thinking of the possibility of being pregnant because I had stopped keeping track of my ovulation days a few months earlier as it had gotten to a point where I had become so obsessed and it was emotionally draining. I figured it wouldn’t hurt to take a test,” added Kambua.

In the interview with Parents Magazine, Kambua talked extensively about her journey to motherhood, seven years after getting married.
