I don’t miss showbiz life – Jokate Mwegelo on life after landing Government job
In an interview with Rick Media, Ms Mwegelo said she does not miss showbiz life because not much has really changed in her life.
She went on to say that back then she used to stay indoors and only left the house when she had errands to run and currently, she leaves work and goes home to rest and read.
Jokate said that she was thankful to God, because she has gained a lot in her life since becoming a district commissioner.
“Watu hawajui, siku zote maisha yangu yamekuwa tu simple. Nilikuwa nyumbani most of the time, nitatoka kama kuna shughuli na kadhalika na saa hizi ninakaa Kisarawe nikitoka kazini napumzika tu nyumbani. Ntasoma, hivyo kujiendeleza lakini sina vitu vingi. Hakuna kitu ambacho namiss maanake hakuna kitu kipya. Sana sana namshukuru mungu kanipa nafasi ya kutumikia wananchi naona kama ni Mungu amenipa nafasi ya kunibariki kupitia wananchi. Kwa hivyo namshukuru mheshimiwa rais kwa kuniona kwamba nitaweza kutumikia hii nafasi. Namshukuru Mungu kwa kunipa pia hii nafasi kwa sababu tunaamini uongozi unatoka kwa Mungu nafasi inatoka kwa Mungu. Hakuna kitu ambacho nakimiss. Sana sana naona nimeongeza vitu ambavyo ni vingi Zaidi kwenye maisha yangu,” she said.
Asked whether she has ambitions of becoming president of Tanzania, Ms Jokate said that unlike other politicians who dream big, all she is doing is learning from her job as Kisarawe D.C.
She went on to say that if God sees it fit that she gets more opportunities to serve people, she will continue to do it.
“Viongozi wotw wa kisiasa wanapenda kudream vitu vikubwa nationally lakini mimi dream yangu kubwa niseme tu naendelea kujifunza Zaidi kupitia hii nafasi ambayo nimepata na Mwenyezi Mungu ikimpendeza niendelee kupata nafasi nyingi Zaidi za kuwatumikia wananchi. That’s all I can say right now,” said Jokate Mwegelo.
