In 2017, a pregnant Saumu Mbuvi publicly ended things with her baby daddy Benson Gatu.

She claimed that he is the kind to jump from one politician’s daughter to another for his selfish benefits.

In an interview with People Daily, Saumu spilled all the beans on what transpired before that unforgettable post on social media.

“I had moved in with Gatu, when he started acting up. He would claim to have gone for a business trip, and I would later learn that it was all lies. He was cheating on me with another woman. That is why I even posted about it on social media because it was someone I knew, a daughter to one of the governors. I do not mean to tarnish his name or his political ambitions, but this is one story I have to make clear,” she revealed.

Saumu went on to reveal that Gatu would leave her in the house and sneak off to the lady’s house in Kileleshwa or go to the coast with her.

To make matters worse, he disappeared during her last trimester which left her frustrated and she would cry herself to sleep. “During my last trimester, the guy had disappeared. Even for clinical appointments and other important matters, he was nowhere to be seen. Many are the nights I used to cry myself to sleep. I ended up frustrated, and when I couldn’t take it anymore, I moved back to my parents’ home. One thing I have come to understand is that relationships fail. I am not and will not be the first one to be cheated on and left. Just because I am in the limelight doesn’t mean everything has to be perfect.”

They say that time heals all wounds and time has healed Saumu’s wounded heart as she has been seen in the arms of a new man. And judging from a number of posts on social media, her new man is a keeper.

“In life, you will realize there is a role for everyone you meet. Some will test you, some will use you, some will love you, and some will teach you. But the ones who are truly important are the ones who bring out the best in you. They are the rare and amazing people who remind you why it's worth it. I found that in you,” reads one post.
