I am not apologizing - Jalang’o responds to Size 8

Jalang’o has responded after Size 8 blasted him for roasting the Gospel industry.

The breakfast show host ruffled a few feathers after complaining about the lack of godliness in the new age gospel songs at the Groove Awards nomination night. He said that the Gospel industry is no longer what it used to be, the content no longer glorifies God and there is too much mixing with secular artists.

“Content hakuna hata kidogo,” he said as he shared a snippet of Kennon’s song called ‘Kama Pupu.’

“Content ni zero Mungu anatajwo kama producer. Come back and start doing real Gospel music with content.” He said before going to criticise the industry some more.

Criticism that had many Gospel artists on the defensive and Size 8 even came forward to say that Jalang’o shouldn’t judge the industry by a few bad seeds.

“Jalang’o should not judge people with a few songs because ours is the biggest music industry, and I believe every song has a message. Everyone sings differently, thus it would be wrong to judge them with their content...I think the problem is the understanding by people and not the song or perhaps the delivery. But from someone who reads the word, they will understand what every artiste means with their song,” She told Word Is.

Jalang’o has now responded to the ruckus his declaration has caused and has also responded to Size 8’s sentiments. And from what he said, he stands by his statements and people shouldn’t expect an apology for the truth.

Speaking to his co-host Jeff Koinange, Jalang’o said: “I’m under fire, they are up in arms.”

“Are they asking for your apology?” Jeff asked to which Jalas replied with “Apology? Me?” before laughing hysterically indicating that he will not apologise.

Jalas then went on to add “Size 8 has come out saying I shouldn’t judge people, I should fast, and I don’t know do what. She talked and talked. And you know Size 8 is a very good friend of mine, very good friend. I don’t know why she herself would come out strongly to condemn me.”
