Stunning.

Janet Mbugua’s twin Timothy Mbugua recently left formal employment for a stab at the business world.

And his baby, a high-end barbershop located on Dennis Pritt Road, Kilimani is now open for business.

His girlfriend Edith Kimani recently gave us a look at the barbershop whose interior is the manliest a man can get. It’s basically a man cave and has the same vibes as the old school black-owned barbershops in the states.

From the leather couches to the polished wooden table to the unfinished brick walls, the barbershop has a rustic feel which is a beautiful contrast to the neon colours we are used to seeing in most kinyozis.

Speaking during an earlier interview with The Nation, Timothy said that with the barbershop, he wanted to get out of his comfort zone of design and advertising and step out into uncharted waters.

“I spent between 12-15 hours a day working, I figured that working on my own brand for that long made more sense than putting in all that effort to build someone else’s brand. I decided to step out of my field, design and advertising, and try something new, different and fresh,” he said.

He also advised against quitting your job to venture into business based on a whim or emotion “You might have a great skill, but that is just one skill. Running a business requires many more skills, so resigning from a job should never be a decision based on emotion.”
