Joseph Jowie Irungu, who is the main suspect in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani, has changed his Instagram name to Kush Irungu just days after he was released from prison on bail.

He first came to the limelight after proposing to his then girlfriend and TV journalist Jacque Maribe. Then, he only went by the Instagram name Jowie.Joe, a name that he used until his release from Prison.

Pulse Live has however, noticed that Jowie who was released on Wednesday (March 11) last week after managing to raise the Sh2 million cash bail could be making changes, to adjust to his life.

Beginning with his Instagram, Jowie has done away with the initial Jowie.Joe and now goes by the name Kush (Kush.Irungu)

It is also known that Jowie’s middle name is Kuria which he might have shortened to Kush.

Released on bail

Justice James Wakiaga on February 13, 2020 accepted Jowie’s bail application after the prosecution failed to produce compelling reasons to continue having him detained.

The judge further constrained Jowie from commenting on the case on social media and from getting into contact with the witnesses.

Jowie was ordered to surrender his travel documents with the court and also report to his local chief once every month.

His release came after spending almost two years behind bars.
