On Monday, Lil Duval shared a photo of Stivo, likening him to the “New Moon Face” emoji, an act that was interpreted as throwing shade at the singer’s appearance.
Lil Duval put up Stivo’s photo with a caption that read, “If 🌚 was a person.”

A cross check by Pulse Live indicates that the “New Moon Face” emoji is always perceived as creepy and used to express disapproval.
“🌚 New Moon Face.
May be used to represent the moon more generally. Popularly perceived as creepy, used to throw shade (express disapproval), or convey various suggestive or ironic sentiments,” a definition of the New Moon Face emoji used by Lil Dival to mock Stivo Simple Boy.
Lil Duval’s act elicited wild reactions among Kenyans, who took it to his (Duval) comment section to square it out.

Actor Pascal Tokodi said, “Stivo achana na huyu fala, kuna wengi hii dunia, endelea kuzidi mebele bro @stivosimpleboy”
Comedian Mulamwah added, “Pumbavu, wtf, how can you even say that, he is ours and we are proud of him in Kenya.”
Actor Nick Mutuma joined that conversation saying, “The dud you are trolling is a kens artist who makes conscious music, he just stays in his lane and does his thing and that’s why we’re mad @lilduval.”
