And since baby showers and gender reveal parties have become the social trend, some celebrities went ahead to plan exquisite baby showers while others preferred not to have one.

While some loathe baby showers and deem them unnecessary, especially because of the expenses, others love them since they are considered as a rite of passage for every woman on the journey to motherhood.

Here are some of the lavish, unforgettable celebrity baby showers that we witnessed in 2019.

Tanasha Donna

WCB boss, Diamond Platnumz and his girlfriend Tanasha Donna held a glamorous, expensive baby shower that was the talk of the town in August. The white and blue themed baby shower that was held in Best western Coral Beach Hotel in Dar es Salaam was attended by the high and mighty in the entertainment industry.

The décor was made of cute baby stuff such as baby clothes and teddy bears to celebrate the upcoming birth of Tanasha.

The glammed-up event was the most talked about celebrity baby showers in 2019 since it was the first baby shower that Chibu Dangote had ever thrown for his baby mamas.

They later welcomed baby Naseeb junior, on October 2nd who enjoys a following of over 117k on Instagram.

Diana Marua

Gospel Singer Kevin Bahati, popularly known as Bahati, treated his wife Diana Marua to a lavish baby shower on August 4th that cost an arm and leg.

The white and gold themed event was an invite only occasion that saw close friends of the Bahati’s and family members attend the event.

The expensive baby shower that also doubled up as a gender reveal party was one of a kind as it was characterized by pomp and glamour. You could tell that the couple has a fine taste for things judging from the venue (Sovereign Suites Hotel) the décor, the set up and the delicacies.

The baby shower was estimated to have cost close to a million shillings.

In August, the couple welcomed their second born, Majesty Bahati.

Gospel singer Linet Munyali popularly known as Size 8 was treated to a surprise baby shower on October 28th by close friends and relatives.

The mateke hit maker, who was expecting her second baby, was treated to an all-white surprise baby shower that was led by her sister, Mary Munyali and Singer Wahu.

The lavish baby shower saw her get emotional as she broke down in tears. She later explained the ‘tears were a sign of a brand-new thing that God was birthing in her life’.

The baby shower was an exciting beautiful ceremony that saw her and her friends celebrate her milestone. The singer termed the pregnancy as a miracle and encouraged women not to give up in their pregnancy struggles.

In December 2018, Size 8, suffered a miscarriage, an unfortunate incident that took a toll on their family.

The singer and her husband Dj Mo welcomed a baby boy in November, a pregnancy that saw her hospitalized.

Milly Wa Jesus

Milly wa Jesus, wife to Kabi wa Jesus, was also showered with a surprise baby shower ahead of her delivery date.

The black and yellow themed baby shower that was put together by her close friends was held in September at the Ridgeways Leisure Garden in Nairobi.

In August, the couple had held a gender reveal party that was graced by the likes of Diana Marua, Bahati, Simon Kabu, Sarah Kabu and other friends and family members.

The lovebirds who make marriage love look like a bed of roses, welcomed a bouncing baby boy on October 10th.

Nimo Gachuiri

In February, Mr Seed’s fiancé Nimo Gachuiri, was treated to a surprise baby shower that was organized by her close friends and lover.

The Gold and black themed baby shower was held at Ridgeways Inn along Kiambu Road that saw invited close friends and family members attend the occasion.

In the fun filled party Nimo stepped out in a black and Gold outfit as her friends wore black dresses. She was treated to a special buffet, cake cutting and fun games that made the celebration lively.

Something that caught the attention of their fans was the fact that Bahati and his wife, Diana Marua were not present at the celebration, confirming bad blood between the two.

They lovely couple welcomed their baby boy on March whom they named Gold Christen.

Sarah Hassan

In March, actress Sarah Hassan was treated to a surprise baby shower by her close friends and family at an undisclosed location.

Media personality, Anita Nderu was among the attendees, and she couldn’t hide her excitement of becoming an aunt.

Before the beauty went public with her baby bump, she had kept the pregnancy a secret. Sarah and her husband Dale tied the knot in February 2017 in a private wedding ceremony with close friends and family.

The couple welcomed their first child, baby Dale in June.

Isabella Kituri

Isabella Kituri’s friends at K24 threw her a lavish baby shower as she was preparing for another addition in her family.

The yellow themed event saw the lovely Isabella, step out in a beautiful red dress as her friends also came out dressed elegantly.

The surprise baby shower left the beauty speechless as she wasn’t expecting her colleagues to pull such a move on her. The beauty had a reason to celebrate after the demise of her husband who died when she was just 25 years old, a year after their marriage.

She was blessed with a baby girl in June.
