The hardest decision I made was leaving Citizen TV – Joab Mwaura

K24 journalist Joab Mwaura has revealed that the hardest decision he has had to make in his life was leaving the Royal Media Services, Citizen TV.

Mr Mwaura who currently works as an Assignment Editor and features reporter at K24 made the revelation in an interview with a local daily, on Friday.

In the interview, he also opened up about his personal and work life disclosing his best and worst moments as a journalist.

Mwaura said that going to report on the ‘Operation Linda Nchi’ in Somalia when the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) first went into Somalia to fight terror group Al Shabaab was his worst work experience.

He also said his best moment working as a journalist was having his Mgaagaa na Upwa segment on K24 TV, maintaining that he likes it when the voiceless are heard.

Move to K24

Joab Mwaura joined K24 in 2013 in a mass exodus that saw top Citizen TV journalists move to the Mediamax owned K24 ahead of the 2013 General Election.

Some of the big names that were poached to K24 include; Franklin Wambugu, Tom Mboya, Belinda Obura, Torome Tirike, Tony Timase and Geoffrey Wachira among others.
