Stori Yangu will feature real life stories of leading Kenyan personalities that have never been told before. It will focus on character driven stories about top radio personalities, musicians, TV personalities, and comedians.

“You hear a lot of stories but leading personalities in the country. None has ever gone as in depth as Stori Yangu will go. All myths and rumors will be dispelled through this show as the stories will be told by the personalities themselves,” said Margaret Mathore, Channel Head Maisha Magic East.

She adds, “This is a unique show because at Maisha Magic we realized that audiences are more interested than ever in non-fiction Storitelling. That gives us an opportunity to broaden the scope of what is currently airing on TV and draw in more important and inspirational matters of modern day society. Stori Yangu will explore these through creating a real connection with leading personalities from across Kenya who have contributed to different industries and causes in the country.”

The show will feature top stage names including Nyota Ndogo, Jeff Koinange, KJ, Caroline Mutoko, Papa Shirandula, Size 8, Daddy Owen, Jua Kali, Big Ted, Bahati, Benjamin Ayimba and Maina Kageni among others.

Stori Yangu premiered on Maisha Magic East on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 20.00 and will air on consequent Thursdays on DStv Channel 158 and GOtv Channel 4.

The first show featured the story of comedian and politician John Kiarie, popularly known as KJ. It took invited guests back to the days of Redykyulas, when KJ and friends revolutionized the comedy industry in Kenya back in the 90s. KJ also opens up about his personal life, the suicide cases in his family, advertising, his love for cartoon and his political ambition.

The launch of Stori Yangu follows the success of the just concluded wedding show Our Perfect Wedding produced by Maisha Magic East which premiered in November 2016. Maisha Magic East promises its audiences a host of other captivating local shows to be released in 2017.
