I have been embarrassed and hurt - Dennis Oliech's mum speaks

Mama Oliech has finally opened up.

Judging from his appearance many Kenyans gleefully tweeted that they had seen the fall of the great Dennis ‘The Menace’ Oliech.

They went on to claim that his love for the night-life and skirt-chasing was the reason he was now broke and languishing in poverty.

His mum Mary Auma Oliech has now come out to address allegations of Dennis going broke.

“It is just a rumour with no truth in it, he is not broke.” She said before revealing that the rumour has not only hurt her but the Oliech family as well.

“We’ve been embarrassed and hurt. He is a national hero. National heroes deserve a lot of respect. Dragging their names through the mud is wrong.” The 61-year-old matriarch told People Daily.

She then went on to describe her son as a very fair and disciplined man who once almost kicked out his very own brother from a team he was coaching because he wasn’t ‘taking things seriously’.

But despite his strict nature he has been very helpful to his family and spent a lot of money during his mum’s treatment for Lymphoma Cancer.

“He has helped us whenever he can when it comes to family projects. However, all his siblings are stable and have families and jobs of their own. When I was battling Lymphoma Cancer, he played a big role in making sure I got well. He found a doctor in France who treated me from 2013 to 2016.He spent huge amounts of money. Now I am well, I just attend physiotherapy. Also, he supported me to open a second branch of Mama Oliech and a pub at Dagoretti Centre.” Mama Oliech disclosed to the paper.
