Meet the hunk replacing Maina Kageni on Classic 105

Here he is

Owing to the fact that almost all matatus in Kenya tune in to Maina and King’ang’i in the morning show, you have already noticed that the voice of the new host strikingly resembles that of Maina Kageni. No?

The presenter is Mike Mondo and he is definitely not a newbie in the radio industry.

When it comes to radio you can say that Mondo is Maina’s twin. His laugh, manner of hosting among others makes listeners feel that their beloved Maina Kageni has not really left.

The father of one is a trained nurse but ditched pursuing the career when it proved difficult to get employment.

“I was an unemployed nurse, living in a bedsitter which my brother Eric Wambua Nzioka used to pay rent for. I WAS BROKE. I did not know what to do with my life, or how I would get to where I want to be in life,” he shared in January 2017.

Mondo also hosts Sports Central on KBC and KTN. He landed the lucrative show sponsored by Sportpesa which highlights how the betting firm is transforming lives investing in different sporting activities across the country.

He worked as a presenter at Hot 96 for three years before moving to X FM Kenya where his show #XFMHomeRun kept many listening.

He later joined Classic 105 where he hosts the 4 pm drive show with radio queen Terry Muikamba.
