“I got into Tahidi High and was fired after only three episodes. Then in 2008, Mother In-Law was just starting and I got a call to play the role of Charlie,” he said.
The celebrated actor also disclosed that the ‘drunkard Charlie’ we all see on TV was not in the programme’s original script and it is his own creation.

Prior to starting his acting career, Charlie who is a trained P1 teacher said that he worked in Soweto slums as a teacher where he earned Sh3, 000 per month before he decided to quit in 2007.
