Former Citizen TV boss lands lucrative job with the Kenyatta family

Going for the gold

The veteran journalist who worked as an editorial consultant at RSM is said to be warming up for the position of Chief Executive Officer at the Kenyatta family owned Mediamax where he will oversee operations at K24 TV and People Daily.

He was among the two top editors who left the S.K Macharia owned RMS along with Nixon Ng’ang’a and they both were rumored to be joining current Lands Cabinet Secretary Farida Karoney who was the RMS Chief Operations Officer as communication advisors.

“For those calling, inquiring & even congratulating me for a supposed move to Ardhi Hse, thanks for best wishes, but no thanks! I’ve neither solicited nor been offered a govt job. My focus at the moment is 100% elsewhere,” he said on his Facebook page.

According to Business Today, Opondo is set to take over as Mediamax CEO effective 1 May 2018.
