Veteran singer impressed with Magufuli's move to ban Diamond's songs
Magufuli's move endorsed
The Tanzania crooner whose real name is Lucas Mkenda is appreciative of the Tanzanian government for intervening on the country’s ‘norms and values’.
Mr. Nice stated that it was thoughtful to forbid the thirteen songs as opposed to ruining it for all the other artists who are doing it right by producing legit content.
“Serikali inaona ni ajira yako lakini isifike maali ukachafua watu wengine, ni afadhali wewe samaki mmoja ukatupwa wengine waendelee kuchanua, sio wote waonekana wameoza,” said Mr Nice.
While speaking to a Tanzanian media outlet, the ‘Fagilia’ hit maker seconded that the government’s move to prohibit the airing of the 13 songs were banned.
They stated that the lyrics in the songs that were banned violated the regulations of broadcasting services.
Among the songs prohibited were Hallelujah and Waka Waka by Tanzanian pop star Diamond Platnumz.
Other songs included; Pale Kati Patamu by Ney wa Mitego, Chura and Nimevurugwa by Snura, Hainaga Ushemeji by Manifongo, I’m Sorry JK by Nikki Mbishi, Kibamia by Roma Mkatoliki, Tema Mate Tumchape by Madee, Uzuri Wako by Jux, Nampa Papa by Gigy Money.
