Among other questions, Richard sought to find out what goes through Kathy’s mind during her sermons and if she is affected by the criticism levelled at her over her extravagant lifestyle.
“What goes through your mind as you are doing it (preaching)?” Quest asked and Kathy replied with “My desire for preaching is to see changed lives. To see God use me to be able to impact lives and change them for the better.
“It’s a message she wants to take beyond Nairobi despite her critics who question her message as prosperity gospel .Critics think that she and her husband live too much of a lavish lifestyle,” Quest says off camera.
He then asks Kathy how she feels about the criticism she receives for her luxurious lifestyle. “When you hear the criticism of you and your husband and about your personal lives does it hurt you?”
“It really doesn’t hurt me because if you do not know me, you will say things about me. You can be well off, but that does not mean that you are not humble. I think I am a very humble human being, but I believe that God has called us to live life and live it well. I would like the church to grow; I would want it to grow to 80, 000 or 100, 000 followers and more because we want to see young people’s lives changed and that is what it’s all about,” said Mrs Kiuna.
