In an early morning tweet, the Kenya Police Service mentioned that City Hall Way shall remain closed to facilitate ease movement for all participants in the Blue Economy Conference from November 26th-289th, 2018.

Over 4,000 participants from around the world are coming together to learn how to build a blue economy that; harnesses the potential of our oceans, seas, lakes and rivers to improve the lives of all, particularly people in developing states, women, youth and Indigenous peoples
The theme of the Blue Economy conference and the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development, will focus on new technologies and innovation.
“The conference presents immense opportunities for the growth of our economy especially sectors such as fisheries, tourism, maritime transport, off-shore mining among others in a way that the land economy has failed to do,” said Ambassador Macharia Kamau, Principle Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kenya.
The conference is anchored on the two conceptual pillars of: Sustainability, Climate Change and Controlling Pollution, and Production, Accelerated Economic Growth, Jobs and Poverty Alleviation.
