Roma who had appeared on the list of Musician whom their songs will not be given airplay by media station in Tanzania, refused to edit his song hence attracting the penalty.
Earlier on, the Communication Authority in partnership with Music Regulatory body had listed 15 artists whom theisr songs will not be given airplay.
According to Juliana Shonza the Minister for information in Tanzania, Roma disobeyed the authorities by failing to show up after being summoned over his song dubbed “Kibamia”.
“We have decided to ban Roma Mkatoliki’s song Kibamia and all his other songs. For a period of six months his songs with not be played on radio and TV.” We are also Investigating Ney wa Mitego who hass promised to work on his songs and ensure they meet the required threshold.” said Shonza
Others who have been affected by the ban include Diamond Platnumz, Juma Jux, Nay wa Mitego, Snura, Madee, Gigy Money, Barnaba classic, among others.
The Communication Authority banned Diamond’s “Waka Waka” that he featured Rick Ross and Halleluyah that he featured Morgan Heritage.
Roma was kidnapped last year alongside three artistes by Unknown people over his song that seemed to criticise the governemnt.
The assailants are said to have stormed a music studio in Masaki, where the three artistes were and whisked them away.
