This is according to his young brother who spoke to Bongo5, adding that his brother was ailing for some time.
"I want to confirm that my brother succumbed to acute malaria and UTI. He had battled the conditions for long before his demise. At the hospital, where he had been rushed, doctors said it was malaria, which killed him." said Sam's Younger brother

“We have been shocked by Steve’s claim that my brother was an HIV carrier. Sam hadn’t told us that [he was HIV (positive)]. I think Steve owed us a duty of care during this difficult time, and he shouldn’t have made that insensitive comment,” said Sam’s younger brother.
The late Sam passed on while being rushed to the Mwananyamala Hospital in Dar es Salaam for treatment.
The Bongo Flava Industry in Tanzania led by Diamond Platnumz and Jacqueline Wolper mourned the sudden death of the talented musician.
The late Sam is set to be laid on Friday, June 8 in Bagamoyo, Singida, according to Islamic customs.
