People said I was stupid - Size 8 on dropping secular music for Gospel

It was one of the hardest decisions in my life to make - The ‘Mateke’ singer revealed.

Before she switched to Gospel, Size 8 faced fierce resistance from detractors and was called names and accused of a lot of evil. Some even called her stupid for leaving a lucrative career in secular as she was at the top of her game for an unpredictable life in Gospel.

“When I left secular music it was one of the hardest decisions in my life to make. I was called all sorts of names and accused of so many evils. Others said I was very stupid but every single day I see how God uses that decision to touch and transform other lives for His glory. We are saved by the grace of Jesus.” Size 8 disclosed on her Instagram account.

And her reason for this confession is because she has seen how her decision to move to Gospel not only touched her life but also the lives of others. This was in response to Gracious Amani who said that Size 8 is her favourite musician. “I love Size 8’s music because she came from secular music to gospel music. That’s a very big step to take…because she used to sing dirty songs but these days she sings very inspiring songs.” Gracious said on Citizen TV before adding that ‘Mateke’ is her favourite song from Size 8. “I love ‘Mateke’, whereby she came from secular music and pushed the devil back.”

“Wow wow, this little girl's interview just blessed my heart encouraged me so much. God bless you for lifting this girl for such a time as this when you are directing me to make another huge change this is my confirmation from the Holy Spirit to me that is time for another change. I am edified to go on changing as the Lord leads.” Size 8 wrote in part.
