Steven Kanumba’s father dies after a long illness

Bongo movie star Steven Kanumba’s father, Charles Kanumba has passed on after a long illness.

Speaking to Global Tv, mzee Kanumba’s wife Rehema Ramadhani Makali, revealed that her husband who has been sickly for a long time started feeling unwell on 6th March before his condition worsened and the cruel hand of death took him away.

Ms Rehema said that she was saddened by her husband’s death who at some point had difficulties breathing and could not speak or move any part of his body.

When he did not show any signs of improvement, they took him to Shinyanga Regional Hospital where he received treatment. Its only after getting home that she received the news that he had passed on and his body taken to the mortuary.

Mr Kanumba had been ailing for a long time and even when his son Steven Kanumba died, he did not attend the funeral.

Steven Kanumba's death

Steven was allegedly pushed to death by his lover Elizabeth Michael popularly known as Lulu. She was later on sentenced to two years in prison for involuntary manslaughter.

When she was released from prison in 2018, the late Charles Kanumba requested Lulu to go for cleansing as per the traditions and from a dream he had gotten. He also wished her well and was happy that she had completed her sentence.

"Babu wa Kanumba alinitokea na kuniambia nimkumbushe Lulu atekeleze mambo ya kimila ambayo nimewahi kumwambia tena ya kwenda kaburini kwa Kanumba na kufanya usafi na kumuombea na hapo atakuwa ameondokana na kile kivuli cha marehemu,” he said.
