How things went down at the Barbecue Live concert at Ngong Racecourse
The concert was celebrating 13 years of the existence of Barbecue Live in the country.
Barbecue is a fun & interactive event that brings together young upcoming professionals in an informal, relaxed chilled out Kenyan-themed atmosphere with locally inspired menus.
The event witnessed a number of performers from the local artist who had been invited to drill the crowds present.
Rankaddah aka Mulei Mkamba was the first artist to step on stage at the Barbecue Live concert. Rankaddah who came to the limelight with his song “Tingika” got the chance to curtain raise for Timaya.
Rankaddah performed a number of his songs ranging from “Tukimalisia”, Tingika and his new track Call 999.
All the way from United Kayole Khaligraph Jones was present at the Barbecue Live concert at the Ngong Recourse.
Being the king of rap, Papa Jones did not disappoint as he staged one of the good performances for the night. With the good lyrical flow of Khaligraph Jones and ability to utilize the stage, his performance was even enough to take care of the night.
With the presence of Khaligraph Jones girlfriend aka Miss Cashy, the two had a couple's performance with their song Mikasa Sucasa.
Apart from that Khaligraph Jones also performed his songs, Mazishi, Open doors, Yego, Akinyi, Ting Badi Malo, among others.
Before ending his performance Papa Jones lashed out at Kenyan DJs for playing more Nigeria music. “Ambia Dj atoe hizo ngoma za Kinageria kwa TV” then he dropped the mic and walked off.
At exactly 00:00 the hit maker of the song “WOYO” Timaya, showed up on stage dressed in all black ready for the performance at the Barbecue Live concert.
Being the main man for the event, Timaya carried away fans present at the concert with his unique moves while on stage.
Timaya performed songs like, I Like the way, Woyo, Sarmankwe, Concur, Bang Bang, Ukwu among others.
Before he could wrap up his performance that had lasted for about one hour, Timaya settled for a few sing-along songs in his Albums making his fans sing along.
After the show, Timaya took to his Instagram Account to express his love for Kenyans.’
“NAIROBI got some fire from the SOUND BOY....Mad love, Nakupenda KENYA” captioned Timaya.
Kenyan socialite Huddah Monroe aka the Bosschick made a special appearance at the Barbecue Live concert.
Huddah had early hosted Timaya at the Bleau Lounge graced the stage with her beauty giving her fans a few moves.
Dj Bash and Dj Joe Mfalme.
The two radio Dj’s made sure that fans get good music from their side. Bash who is the official radio Dj at HomeBoyz Radio had a good time with fans at the event.
On the other Hand the baddest Dj in east and central Africa, Dj Joe Mfalme showed up on stage after Timaya giving revelers something to dance to. Mfalme Dj’s for Capital Fm here in Nairobi.
The MC’s for the night were Comedian Jalang’o Mwenyewe along the host of Teen Republik Tracy Wanjiru and Martin Kimathi (NTV).
