Muthoni Drummer Queen’s song ‘Power’ attracts the attention of American singer Toni Braxton

American Singer Toni Braxton took to Twitter to commend Award winning singer Muthoni Drummer Queen, for her song Power that was released a week ago.

"This one for the women who came before us, who built the world for us, who make it work for us" Congrats to @muthoniDQ” read Toni’s tweet.

Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) were impressed that Ms Muthoni's work that had caught the attention of such a legendary and renowned singer like Toni Braxton. Netizens congratulated MDQ for the good work saying that they were proud of her.

Power

Last week, The Nai ni ya who hit maker opened up on the inspiration behind ‘Power’ saying that she wanted to empower women and help them break the rules and the boundaries the society had put for them.

Speaking with Betty Kyallo on Weekend with Betty, MDQ revealed that the society was not acknowledging women's effort and the contribution they were making, something that made them forget the power they hold.

Ms Muthoni added that she wanted to break the ceiling for the next generation of women and paint a picture where women were happy, thriving and successful.

A few weeks ago, she won won the Best artist in French Switzerland at Swizz Music awards in Switzerland.
