Veteran Tanzanian Actress Mama Abdul Laid to rest

Veteran Tanzanian Actress Salome Nongwe aka Mama Abdul, was on Monday laid to rest after a Requiem mass at Mburahati Catholic Church.

The local media in Tanzania, reported that the late Mama Abdul was buried at Chang’ombe, in Dar es Salaam.

The burial ceremony was graced by top actors in the Bongo Movie industry among them; Steve Nyerere, Joti, Monalisa, Cathy, Dokii, Mc Pilipili among others.

Mama Abdul passed on, Last Friday after a short illness. The news of her death were shared by online by a number of actors among them Joti Official.

Her death comes months after another veteran actor, Amri Athuman aka Mzee Majuto died. Majuto died in September last year at Muhimbili Hospital while undergoing treatment.

Magufuli mourning

Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli led his people in mourning the celebrated actor who had battled with diseases for a long time.

President Magufuli described Mzee Majuto as an actor who paved way for the Film Industry in Tanzania.

“King Majuto alikuwa Kielelelezo cha safari ndefu ya sanna kwa nchi yetu, kwa Muda woteamedhihirisha Kipaji, ujuzi, na uwezo wa hali ya juu katyika uigizaji na uchekeshaji na hivyo kuwa kipenzi cha Watanzania na wasanii Wenzake, Hatutasahau uchesi Wake, upendo na uzalendo kwa nchi yake wakati wa uhai wake” said Magufuli.
