The longest-serving member of the Malkia Strikers squad has been appearing on billboards all across the country advertising the new betting firm.

Janet is the latest among Kenyan celebrities whose talents have been tapped by a betting firm. In September, Joey Muthengi was picked as the Betin Brand ambassador alongside former Harambee Stars midfielder McDonald Mariga who plays in Italy.

Betting in Kenya

Sports betting has become a booming business in Kenya with betting firms being established left, right and centre to cater to the flourishing market.

According to a 2017 report by PWC, Kenya is home to the third-largest gambling market in Africa with South Africa leading the pack followed by Nigeria. A recent report by GeoPoll indicated that Kenya had overtaken the two leading markets and now has the highest number of betting youth.
