Actress Wema Sepetu has been threatened with an economic boycott after rejoining Magufuli’s Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) after dropping it early this year for Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA).
Magufuli’s critics griped about the actress joining the party and threatened to boycott her new App ‘The Wema Sepetu App’.
Blogger Mange Kimambi who is a harsh critic of Magufuli’s government instigated the boycott. After Wema announced that she was back to CCM Mange wrote “Not sure what to say, I only blame her for not being strong enough. Nyerere alikaa jela 25 years she could have taken 2 or 3 years za hiyo kesi yake. Kimara nzima wamebomolewa nyumba na wanaishi sembuse yeye mwenye jina kubwa??? Na lipshine zako walizozipiga marufuku so what? Ungekomaa na msimamo wako serikali ingechoka kukuandama. Wema you are weak! Very weak! Hujawaangusha waTZ tu, umejiangusha mwenyewe pia, your fans and everyone who cared for you. Hivi kizazi hiki kina Winnie Mandela hakuna kabisa eeh?? Kila mtu anaogopa umaskini! Nakuonea huruma mnoooo sababu umepoteza credibility yooooote kwenye jamii.....Dah, kweli adui yako muombee njaa!”

She later went to call for an economic boycott “Hii struggle ni yetu sisi. Watu kama Wema Sepetu watatuchelesha kupata ukombozi ila hawatatuzuia. Inabidi na sisi watanzania tuache kuwasapati Hawa wanaoturudisha nyuma cha kwanza kabisa tufanye haya yafuatayo.

Kwanza naamini haitaji tena support yenu kwenye kazi zake naamini sasa ana anapokea posho nyingi Lumumba.”
