The news anchor narrated how she had just started hosting KTN’s Prime time show ‘Checkpoint’ in 2015 and she was not sure she could fit the place of the person that was before her.
Okwara said she was nervous about the big move and she made many mistakes that saw her get judged on a daily basis, but she kept pushing and praying.
In the throwback post, Yvonne acknowledged that she still gets judged but she keeps working to better herself every other day.
“This photo was taken around 2015. I worked at KTN at the time, had just started doing the biggest show of the week, Checkpoint. I was unsure of myself. I was filling some big shoes of my predecessor. I had just started on prime time, the Holy Grail on TV. I was nervous, unsure of myself and it was a whole new world for me. I was judged every day on air (still happens today) I made many mistakes, some, were very big, one day I'll write about them. I prayed. The one thing that God told me, "Be yourself, draw on your strengths that I have given you" BE YOURSELF! I'm not there yet, I strive to get better and better every day, it's a work in progress!” wrote Yvonne Okwara.
