They refused citing religious beliefs that it is against modern medicine
The officers from Kajiado who accompanied the health officials were going door to door educating parents on the need of having their children vaccinated but the three refused citing religious beliefs that’s against modern medicine.
Dangerous
John Njoroge, David Kiarie and Leah Njeri were detained at Kajiado police station and are expected to be arraigned in court to face charges of subjecting children to dangerous cultural practices.

Chiefs in the county have been urged by local leaders to ensure that children are immunized and the community sensitized on the need of the vaccination.
Notorious
The Kavonokia and Akorino sects are notoriously against medicine.
In 2014, police officers and health officials had to storm homes of the members and forcefully administering polio vaccine on their children.
