Teenager goes into labour, gives birth in bus

A 19-year-old college student welcomed her baby recently while travelling from Busia to Mombasa in a Modern Coast bus.

All hands were on deck to ensure that Elizabeth Nekesa a student at the Coast Institute of Technology had a safe delivery.

The efforts of the customers and the crew on board paid off as baby 'Modern' was safely delivered before getting ferried to Makindu Sub-County Hospital for further medical assistance.

Following the successful delivery, Modern Coast set out this message:

“We would like to appreciate the patience and assistance of our customers and crew aboard our bus from Busia to Mombasa yesterday 26th Aug, 2017 reg; KCF 615U.One of the passengers went into labour and was successfully assisted to safe delivery. Baby Modern and Mother are fine at Makindu Hospital. Hospital bill catered for by Modern Coast while on follow up. ”

A Nurse at the hospital by the name Mariez also sent out this message “Congratulations modern coast. I’m a staff working at Makindu sub county hospital. ..We warmly received bby modern coast Saturday night and was well resuscitated and recuperating in the ward...congratulations liz....as am typing she’s just seated beside me.”
