Car intercepted with donkey meat torched in Nakuru (Photos)
This incident comes hot on the heels of the 'Nakuru cat samosas'
While butcheries have not been licensed to sell donkey meat, interested parties and owners of abattoirs can seek licences at the relevant veterinary offices to slaughter and sell the meat outside the country.
Boot
Nakuru County has been in the spotlight in the last few days after reports emerged that unsuspecting residents may have been eating cat meat in delicacies like samosas.
A man who claims to have slaughtered hundreds of cats and sold the meat in Nakuru has been apprehended by police.
Slaughterhouse
He confessed that he has slaughtered more than 1,000 cats and sold the meat to the businesspeople since 2012.
In a rather bizarre admission, he claimed that he started the business after identifying a gap in market, though he admitted that his customers were unaware of the source of meat.
